If you love small share plates and good wine, Skyline Kitchen & Vine is a must stop. I have a close group of gal pals who share my love of food, laughter, and deep conversation rather than small talk. We try to get together monthly for our beloved “girl’s nights”. Last month we got to celebrate the birthdays of two of our crew and we chose to celebrate here. I gotta tell ya, this place from the outside is eye catching with wood, industrial steel beams, and strings of lights. Driving past one evening and I knew I HAD to go in there. It’s a rather large facility, with two huge bars and tons of seating. Although it’s big enough to host work parties and celebrations, it felt cozy and intimate for our small group of five. And for being so large I was surprised to see how fast it filled up and how popular they already are (I may be a little behind on finding this one!)
And the food. Lord have mercy on my waistband. DIVINE. I’m a huge fan of small plates because I like to try a lot of things in one sitting. I also like my food to be an experience rather than just fuel. So small delicious plates with good wine and conversation is my favorite setting to enjoy a meal. Although they are “small” plates we all got our share and fill. We tried a few of the options….SIKE! Come on guys like I would try just a few options. Who do you think I am???We tried a LOT. Bacon wrapped dates, mac&cheese, mini meatballs, brussel sprouts, tomato caprese salad, stuffed mushrooms, and bruschetta. Now before you judge us…. we were hungry. ALSO they have an amazing deal that you get four plates for $28. So we ordered two of these deals and it was $56!! Such a great deal! And then ,of course, we added the flourless cake (two orders) for dessert.
For sure the mac&cheese was my favorite small plate. I could have licked the cheese sauce off the plate. For those of you keeping score I only named 7 plates in an 8 plate deal. That’s because we ordered the mac&cheese twice, it was THAT good. No joke I could order a bowl of that to myself next time. It has little bits of cripsy bacon throughout it. With just enough of crunchy salty goodness to brighten the savory cheese sauce. Ok I’m like drooling just reminiscing about it. The runner up for me would be the bacon wrapped dates stuffed with…… GOAT CHEESE!!!! Yes, goat cheese. Sweet Jesus isn’t that just the most heavenly combo of amazingness you have ever heard??? Ya, me too.
Everything was so tasty. The wine selection was on point. Next time I’d like to try one of their fancy cocktails, as those looked super fun. We ordered some food to go for a few loved ones at home and the whole bill with wine, plates, dessert, and to go orders came to $167. Divided amongst friends that’s about a $40 dinner with tip. So affordable and such a deal for the quality of the food and the overall experience.
I was asked to check out the restrooms on these blog dinners and relay back. Some people are very serious about the state of the bathrooms and with all my issues I totally get it! This place gets an A+. Super clean, stocked, and HUGE. If you have kids there’s room for your strollers and gear. I cannot remember however if there was a changing table, SORRY!
All in all this place is a MUST for small plates, friends, and drank! Enjoy the slide show of our meal (sorry for a little blur I should have used my flash and was too excited to eat to preview the pics)! And remember life is too short, pick up those forks! And join me – The Chubby Yogi – for some GRUB, CHUB, and NAMASTE!!!
